Do you ever shop online?

Amazon Smile is a great initiative that supports approved charitable organizations. If you are shopping on Amazon, 0.5% of the value of select items goes directly to 501(c)(3) nonprofits organizations at no additional cost to you!

You can access Amazon Smile through your web browser or through your mobile device. Below outlines a simple way to bookmark Amazon Smile on your phone and use it as you would an app.

For iPhones:

  • Open up Safari and load Amazon Smile.

  • At the bottom of the screen you’ll see an icon depicting an arrow emerging out of the top of a box. Tap this button — it is the “Share” icon.

  • Scroll down through the options and select “Add to Home Screen”, then choose a name for the homescreen icon.

  • The newly named icon will show up on your homescreen and you’ll be able to begin using it straight away.

For Android devices:

  • Bookmark Amazon Smile in your mobile Chrome browser, and then you’re able to create a bookmark app on your android device. This process is described in more detail here.

  • Open your Chrome mobile browser, go to Amazon Smile and add it as a bookmark.

  • Press and hold on the home screen where want to place the bookmark shortcut.

  • Select Widgets from the menu - you may need to tap Apps and Widgets or a similarly-named menu option depending on your device.

  • Press and hold on the Chrome Bookmark widget, then drag it to the home screen of your choosing. There will need to be space on the home screen to successfully add a new widget.

  • Choose a bookmarked website from your collection and you will see the name of the widget’s icon change to the site’s name.

  • Tap it to open the website and start shopping.

We are in search of educational supplies, both new and used. The smallest, most insignificant item to you, may mean the world to others.

Shipping overseas is our largest obstacle. Along with supplies, we also need financial support to enable us to get the supplies to those in need. Amazon Smile described above is a great option and you can give a tax deductible donation directly to For Granted through Paypal. above is a great All donations of any size are greatly appreciated.

Below are examples of useful material donations. All materials should be nontoxic and appropriate for ages three to five years old. If you have any questions about things you may want to donate, simply send us an e-mail.

Items needed:

  • Books, magazines, comics, newspapers about: animals, plants, insects, trees, food, fruits, vegetables, community helpers, family, counting numbers, colors, opposites, shapes, friendship, nursery rhymes, alphabet letters, words, fairy tales, folk tales, transportation, weather, sports, science, world cultures, and world holidays.

  • Pens, pencils, erasers, white out, chalk, chalk erasers, markers, crayons, paint, brushes, finger paint, finger paint paper, magnetic letters, magnetic boards, miniature plastic animals, plastic measuring cups and spoons, bowls, plastic cooking utensils, sand toys (buckets and shovels), rhythmic instruments, balls, jump ropes, easels, plastic cube blocks, and pattern blocks.

  • Notebooks, binders, folders, scissors, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, construction paper, finger paint paper, and tracing paper.

  • Staplers, staples, paper punchers, paper clips, puzzles, building blocks, and LEGO.

  • Educational games, globes, laminated maps, stickers, preschool laminated calendars with weather symbols, play dough, geometric shapes, balls, finger puppets, play fruit and vegetables, rulers/yardsticks with English and metric system, magnets, plastic boats, trucks, and animals.

  • Sneakers, soccer or volleyballs, T-shirts, and shorts.

  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste, bandages, disinfectant wipes, and non-allergenic sunscreen.

  • Battery run tape cassettes with classical music and other types of preschool age musical tapes. Extra batteries would be welcome.
